More Than a Group Climb

The activity is only part of the work.

A Branch Out team building program is intentionally facilitated. We begin by learning what your group wants to work on, then use challenges, observation and debriefing to connect the experience back to the way your team communicates and works together.

What Can We Work On?

Start with what you want the team to get better at.

Your Branch Out program can be shaped around the dynamics and goals that are most relevant to the people you're bringing.

01

Communication

Notice how people share information, listen, ask questions and make themselves understood.

02

Leadership

Give different people opportunities to lead, follow and adapt as the challenge changes.

03

Trust

Explore how teammates support one another when the answer isn't immediately obvious.

04

Problem Solving

Work through unfamiliar challenges where experimentation and new ideas are part of the process.

05

Conflict Management

See what happens when teammates disagree about the best path forward and still need to make progress.

06

Time & Resources

Practice making decisions with limits, competing priorities and shared responsibility.

Branch Out Program Options

Choose the level of facilitation your team needs.

Both options begin with facilitated ground activities. The biggest difference is what happens once your group moves into the aerial park.

Branch Out • Team Bonding

Facilitate the connection. Then let the group climb.

A facilitator leads challenging ground initiatives focused on group cohesion, trust and communication. After the debrief, participants gear up and continue into the aerial park for a self-directed climb.

  • Facilitator-led ground initiatives
  • Guided group debrief
  • Focus on cohesion, trust & communication
  • Followed by independent aerial climbing

Why Facilitation Matters

A challenge becomes more useful when someone helps the team make sense of it.

Branch Out facilitators aren't there simply to run activities. They observe how the group responds, ask questions and help participants connect what happened during the challenge to how they work together elsewhere.

Before

Understand the goal.

We talk through your team, current dynamics and what you want the experience to address.

During

Observe what actually happens.

The facilitator watches how the team communicates, responds and makes decisions while the challenge is unfolding.

After

Talk about what it means.

Debriefing helps participants put words to what worked, what didn't and what they might carry back into their real work together.

How Planning Works

We don't choose the program before we understand the team.

1

Send an Inquiry

Tell us your estimated group size, preferred dates and what you're hoping to accomplish.

2

Talk Through the Team

We'll learn more about the group's needs, dynamics and the outcomes that matter to you.

3

Build the Experience

We'll determine whether Team Bonding or Team Development is the better fit and tailor the facilitation accordingly.

4

Bring the Team

Your facilitator leads the program and helps connect the experience back to your group's goals.

Not Looking for Facilitation?

Sometimes the goal really is just to have a good afternoon together.

If you don't have specific development goals and simply want climbing, ziplining and time together outside the office, a Corporate Outing is probably the better fit.

Plan Ahead

Facilitated programs require a little more coordination.

Team Building is scheduled in advance so we can confirm facilitator availability and design the experience around your group.

Summer facilitator availability can be more limited, so earlier inquiries are especially helpful for summer dates.

Team Building FAQs

A few things to know before you inquire.

What's the difference between Team Bonding and Team Development?

Team Bonding includes facilitated ground initiatives and a debrief followed by a self-directed aerial climb. Team Development continues the facilitation into the aerial portion with skill-based challenges tied to the group's goals.

What's the difference between Team Building and a Corporate Outing?

Team Building is designed around intentional development goals and includes facilitation. A Corporate Outing is a better fit when the main goal is recreation, employee appreciation or casual time together.

Can you customize the program around our goals?

Yes. The planning conversation helps us understand the dynamics and goals of your group so the facilitator can select appropriate activities and discussion points.

Does everyone have to climb?

Team Development can involve non-climbers during the program. If you know some participants will not climb, include that information in your inquiry so we can discuss the best format for your group.

Does everyone need to be athletic?

No. TreeRunner participants have different comfort levels and physical abilities. The goal of facilitated Team Building is not to determine who is the strongest climber.

How much does Team Building cost?

Current published pricing starts at a $825 flat rate for Team Bonding and $850 for Team Development for groups up to 15 climbers. Groups of 16 or more use per-climber group-ticket and program add-on pricing. Current pricing is confirmed when your program is scheduled.

Is Team Building available year-round?

Program availability varies by date, season and facilitator availability. Facilitated programs can have more limited availability during the summer, so advance planning is recommended.

What happens if the weather is questionable?

TreeRunner operates outdoors and weather can affect park operations. Review the Grand Park Weather & Rain Policy and contact our team if conditions may affect your program.

Does submitting an inquiry reserve our date?

No. The inquiry starts the planning process. Your date and program are not confirmed until TreeRunner reviews availability and confirms the reservation.

Have a Goal in Mind?

Tell us what you're trying to work on.

Give us your expected group size, preferred dates and a little context about the team. We'll help determine the program that makes the most sense.

The best teams are built in the trees.

Branch Out gives your team a setting where communication, leadership and problem solving aren't ideas on a slide — they're things the group has to work through together.
