Weather & Rain • Raleigh, NC

Outdoor plans should have a little flexibility.

TreeRunner Raleigh is an outdoor adventure, and weather does not always cooperate with the calendar. That's why we give you the flexibility to change your plans if the forecast isn't looking like the day you had in mind.

Flexible Rescheduling

See a forecast you don't love? Move your visit.

You don't need to wait for TreeRunner to close the park or make a weather call. If rain, heat or the forecast simply isn't what you want for your adventure, you can choose another available date or time.

You're in Control

Reschedule right from your reservation or waiver portal.

Open the portal connected to your reservation and move your visit to another available date or time. There's no need to call the park just because the forecast changed.

Just make the change at least one hour before your scheduled start time.

Weather at TreeRunner

A little weather doesn't always stop the adventure.

TreeRunner operates outdoors and can remain open through many normal weather conditions. Our team monitors conditions throughout the day and adjusts operations when needed.

Light Rain

We can often keep climbing.

A passing shower or light rain does not automatically close TreeRunner. Come dressed for the forecast and expect an outdoor experience.

Thunder + Lightning

We may pause and wait it out.

Thunderstorms or lightning in the area may require climbing to pause while our team monitors conditions. When conditions allow, the adventure can continue.

Heavier Weather

We'll adjust when needed.

Heavy rain, high winds or other significant weather can lead to a temporary pause, delayed operations or, occasionally, a park closure.

If Weather Interrupts Your Visit

We'll help you get back into the trees.

If conditions require TreeRunner Raleigh to close or end your adventure early, we'll make sure the unused portion of the experience isn't simply lost.

Depending on when weather affects your visit, our Raleigh team may provide a future-visit credit or rain voucher so you can come back and adventure another time.

If a weather-related closure is announced before your visit begins, we'll communicate the options available for your reservation.

Your Options

Choose what works for your day.

Sometimes the forecast looks worse than the weather turns out to be. Sometimes you'd rather not chance it. Either choice works.

Option 01

Keep your reservation.

If you're comfortable with the forecast, come prepared for an outdoor experience. Light rain does not automatically stop climbing.

Option 02

Move it yourself.

Prefer another day? Use your reservation or waiver portal to choose another available time at least one hour before your scheduled start.

Option 03

Let us monitor the weather.

Keep your reservation and our Raleigh team will monitor conditions at the park. If operations need to pause or close, we'll handle the weather-related next steps with affected guests.

Raleigh Summer Weather

Hot outside? The forest helps.

Much of TreeRunner Raleigh sits beneath an established forest canopy. On hot summer days, that shade can make the park feel noticeably cooler and more comfortable than open, exposed outdoor areas.

You should still dress for the forecast, bring water and take breaks when you need them. But one of the advantages of spending the day in the forest is getting out of the direct sun for much of your adventure.

Weather & Rain FAQs

Quick answers about weather and changing plans.

Does TreeRunner Raleigh close when it rains?

Not automatically. TreeRunner can often operate through light rain. Thunderstorms, lightning, heavy rain, high winds or other significant conditions may cause climbing to pause or operations to change.

What if I don't like the forecast?

You have the flexibility to move your visit. Reschedule through the reservation or waiver portal connected to your booking at least one hour before your scheduled start time. You do not need to wait for TreeRunner to close because of weather.

What happens if weather interrupts my visit?

If TreeRunner has to end or significantly interrupt your adventure because of weather, the Raleigh team will provide the applicable future-visit credit or rain-voucher option based on the timing and circumstances of the interruption.

What happens if TreeRunner closes before my reservation?

If TreeRunner Raleigh closes because of weather before your visit begins, affected guests will receive information about the available rescheduling or credit options.

Can I get a cash refund if I decide not to come?

Reservation payments are not returned as monetary refunds. Instead, TreeRunner gives guests the flexibility to reschedule or use the applicable park-credit options when changes are made within the policy window. Changes need to be made at least one hour before the scheduled start time.

What happens if I miss my reservation without changing it?

If your plans change, use the available rescheduling options before the one-hour cutoff. Reservations that become no-shows without being changed beforehand are not eligible for later rescheduling, credit or refund.

Make the plan. Change it if you need to.

Keep your reservation if the forecast works for you, or move your visit yourself up to one hour before your scheduled start. We'll take care of monitoring conditions at the park.
