Youth Programs • Raleigh, NC

More time outside. More time to climb.

TreeRunner Raleigh youth programs give kids more than a single trip to the park. Climbers spend extended time outdoors, build their skills, take on new challenges and experience the forest alongside other kids their age.

2027 Summer Adventure Program dates will be announced soon.
TreeRunner Youth Programming

Give them more than an afternoon in the trees.

TreeRunner's youth programs are built around time outside, movement, climbing and progression. Kids have opportunities to return to obstacles, try more difficult challenges and spend time with a consistent group of climbers instead of treating the park as a one-time experience.

Summer Adventure Program.

Our Summer Adventure Program gives ages 7–14 multiple days at TreeRunner to climb, move, learn and spend time outside with other adventurers.

Not just more climbing. More time to grow as a climber.

A normal TreeRunner visit gives a child a few hours to explore. The Summer Adventure Program gives them four days.

That extra time matters. Climbers can return to an obstacle that challenged them, become more comfortable navigating the park, work toward harder trails and spend time alongside kids progressing through the experience with them.

The Experience

There's a lot more room to explore when you have the week.

Climbing is at the center of the Summer Adventure Program, but the experience extends beyond simply completing aerial trails.

Climb

Spend real time in the Aerial Forest.

Climbers navigate obstacles, bridges and ziplines throughout TreeRunner's aerial trails and have opportunities to revisit challenges during the program.

Progress

Work toward the next challenge.

Multiple days give kids time to become more comfortable, improve their climbing and take on challenges they may not have attempted on day one.

Connect

Adventure with the same crew.

Age-based groups give participants time to climb, problem-solve and spend the week alongside other kids in a similar stage of the experience.

Explore

More than the aerial trails.

Program days can include additional outdoor activities, games and other TreeRunner experiences alongside climbing.

Move

A very active week.

Kids spend their days moving through the park rather than sitting inside or spending another week in front of a screen.

Outside

Summer beneath the Raleigh canopy.

Much of the program takes place throughout TreeRunner's wooded setting, giving kids substantial natural shade during Raleigh's hot summer months.

Progression

Most participants finish the week climbing at a higher level.

95% of participants level up during their program week.

With multiple days to climb, practice and try again, 95% of Summer Adventure Program participants advance to a higher climbing level during their program week.

That progression is one of the biggest reasons the multi-day format works so well. Kids have time to revisit an obstacle, gain confidence, improve their movement through the park and eventually try challenges they were not ready for at the beginning of the week.

Ages 7–14

Adventure with kids around your age.

Summer Adventure Program participants are organized into age groups so the week can better match where kids are in their TreeRunner experience.

Ages 7–9

Yellow Youth

Our youngest Summer Adventure Program group begins building experience in the main Aerial Forest.

Ages 10–11

Green Gang

Climbers continue developing independence, confidence and comfort throughout the aerial park.

Ages 12–14

Blue Bunch

Older participants have opportunities to take on increasingly challenging experiences throughout their week.

Why a Multi-Day Program?

The first attempt doesn't have to be the last.

One of the biggest differences between a regular park visit and a youth program is time. Kids don't have to accomplish everything in a single afternoon.

Day One

Figure it out.

Learn the park, get comfortable with the equipment and discover which obstacles feel easy — and which ones don't.

Keep Going

Try it again.

A difficult obstacle does not have to define the experience. There is another day and another chance to approach it differently.

Progress

See what changes.

By the end of the program, kids can look back at what felt difficult at the beginning and see how much more comfortable they have become.
